Day Six ✅ and we had a DAY OFF. But I realize that every day is a day off on vacation, so let’s call it a non-riding day! We explored the little town of Permet, enjoyed the thermal springs, found a dog in a bin, and rediscovered a childhood fav
Day five done ✅ Technically only half a day, but who’s counting. Woke up to beautiful sunrise and horses upon peering out of my tent. Harsh reality hit when faced with the challenge of getting down to the banks of the Vjosa River … easie
Day four ✅ A really challenging day physically and mentally. It started with a ride over the 17th century bridge of Nivan which was like no bridge I’ve ever seen! The steepest cobbled ‘mound’ with no sides - worse than anything at B
Day three ✅ it was a day of ups and downs - started with a bit of rain, then up and down mountains, up and down off the horses, and the tiniest bit of sunshine at the end of the day. Charlie was amazing on the rocky, steep mountain sides. Much better
Day two ✅ Climb every mountain and all that - spectacular views and a lot of sheep! Bit of highway cantering and som very tricky rock maneuvers that Charlie handled like a pro with minimal interference from me. Night time spent in shepherds’ hu
Day one done ✅ Started with a 🌈 high in the mountains near Gjirokaster at the Caravan Riding Center. There’s only one way to go from there - down! Stunning views and none of the predicted rain. Spending the night at a very friendly homestay. T
